Things I’ve (still) got in the works

June 15, 2012

A few months ago I posted about a few of the things I’ve got in the works and let my crazy list-maker side rear it’s type-A little head.  I’ll make a list and write down things I’ve already done just to feel the smug satisfaction when crossing things off (who does that?) So I’ve made some progress with that little list of mine and some things well….they sort of slid off my radar. Check it:

1. My honda is back in original form after getting hit in the parking lot at work waaaaay back in December. (Y’all, that was the biggest inconvenience I have ever experienced….so much back and forth with my insurance company and her insurance company and the collision repair shop and the rental car shop. Eeeesh).

2. Yo se un poco de espanol. Seriously, it’s a noticeably better than when I first moved here thanks to some helpful folks at work. One of them offered to do one-on-one class work with me….Now to just fit that in with my crazy schedule!

3. I’m really remorsful to admit that I have not done much in the way of finding a replacement for Wolfgang, my crazy-talented guitar instructor. I’ve been practicing a bit on my own (not as much as I’d like) and most of what I know so far has come back to me . I can’t wait to add some Randy Rodgers to my song list!

4. Sweet Moses I had a sick (and I mean siiiiick) tax return this year. And so I bought a new camera (happy birthday to me!)

5. I survived my insane month of back-to-back visitors. I’m planning another reunion with my college friend Kate soon (mostly because I need more feisty redheads in my life) and another Midwest adventure come fall but I think we’ll step back from the whole hosting thing for a bit.

6. I have to stop dreaming up project ideas (coughpinterestisthedeathofmecough). While I didn’t quite tackle some of my previous obsessions, I did whip up some snazzy clipboards. Next up, locker renovation (did I mention I bought a set of MASSIVE lockers salvaged from a restaurant and they are sort of rusty pretty much amazing?)

7. Remember when I accidently admitted that I kind of, sort of, maaaaybe enjoy running? Well, I fell out of lust with the whole running thing. I don’t know what happened. (Yes I do…it’s called la-to the excuse providing/couch potatoed -zy). I’m pretty unimpressed with myself.

8. My new bike may not have happened in March but it happened! And I have already outfitted her with a beautiful handmade basket to take to on all sorts of wonderful adventures.

9. My friends with the chicken coop flew the roost (har-har) and so my dreams of farm fresh eggs have been put on hold (I’ve been contemplating rigging up a coop for the patio. Don’t tell my landlord).

10. Thanks to the most amazing moving website ever, my new-to-me adult furniture arrived flawlessly from Fort Worth. Uship has perfect options to help solve tricky moving situations–I couldn’t have been happier with the company that bid on my items (Rollen Hills–look them up! They go all over.)
